Mentor Training

As a mentor, it is reassuring to know that you have the skills to take your role as professional mentor with confidence.

The more skilled you are, the more your mentees will benefit.

Our training courses are specially designed to identify and enhance your skills and to support your development as a mentor.

Within an organisation, the mentors would be able to network and to support each other and share experiences from which they can learn.

Mentor training aims to turn your natural ability as a listener, into a really helpful and perceptive advisor, confidant and friend.

The Training Programme

In the initial stages, many mentors ask questions, such as:

  • Where do I start?
  • What happens if I don't know enough?
  • Can I do harm?
  • How do I deal with a professional in difficulties?
  • Isn't mentoring another way of policing the service?

There are many more questions that may arise, and the course for mentors aims to explore many of the answers.

The aim is to give a comprehensive overview of mentoring and fix the practice in a firm but flexible structure.

It builds on innate skills of the potential mentor. We tailor training programmes to meet the needs of the organisation.
